This seems like the right point to segue into amenities, starting with that savanna. The significance of this savanna really cannot be over-emphasized. This looks like an African savanna, complete with 30 different species of animals. To have this at a hotel in Florida is pretty mind-blowing.
Each area has its own check-in lobby, but the split Resort shares all other facilities. The term “Disney Vacation Club Villas” refers to the Disney Vacation Club accommodations at both Jambo House and Kidani Village. There are so many hidden nooks and crannies throughout Animal Kingdom Lodge that you’re virtually always discovering something new.
This part of the resort is home to one major restaurant — Sanaa. Jambo House is the main building at the resort, home to both Disney Vacation Club villas and standard guest rooms, it has a massive (STUNNING!) lobby and a variety of amenities. This is where you’ll find Boma, Jiko, The Mara, Zawadi Marketplace, and the Uzima Pool. Parking is located in a lot out in front of the building. As far as prices go, Animal Kingdom Lodge’s 2-bedroom villa is one of the cheaper options for large parties at Disney World.

To make the most of your DVC points, look for that value studio at the 11-month mark. A standard view has its perks as well, especially if you enjoy overlooking the beautiful pool at AKV Jambo House. For many AKV Jambo House lovers, there’s nothing better than booking that savanna view. You can sit on your balcony sipping coffee and taking in the view of an actual giraffe. Jambo House is inspired by the traditional “kraal,” which is a horseshoe-curved design that offers views savannas where over 30 species of African wildlife can be seen.
This wasn’t much of a downgrade since there are viewing spots throughout the entire resort. Still, if the view is important to you then check out some room views ahead of time and make a request online during early check-in.
